Sussex Magician

Hey everyone. Been a while, I know. Now, usually I just do magic around the Sussex area. Concentrating on Brighton. However a charming French boy was in town the other day and saw my magic and was SO amazed, he actually made up a new word to describe the sort of close-up, intimate magic I do.

I loved this gig, it was local and the couple had seen me perform before at the Weald and Downland museum. It was their 50th wedding party and I entertained their guests after they had dined. I got a card from them today:

“We all enjoyed your entertainment on Saturday very much. We had so many comments from our guests at our party about your skills. You really put the icing on the cake.”

How nice.

How cool would that be? Your own, private, personal magician at your own dinner party? Wowzers. That beats anything on Come Dine With Me.

I do this sort of magic frequently. I can come and perform close up magic at the start of your evening to entertain your guests as you put the finishing touches to your meal, or after the amazing food has been enjoyed. Either way, the sense of theatre a private magic performance lends to an evening will have your guests begging to be invited next time.

For some people, the idea of a magician at a birthday party is something that stops when you’re about 10.

However, I love doing birthday parties for adults. Last month, I did a celebrity birthday at the Hanbury Ballroom in Brighton. Around 200 people there. I mixed and mingled with the guests, entertaining people ‘close-up’ as I walked around. If there was a long queue at the bar, I would concentrate my efforts there, entertaining folk while they waited to be served.

I would show groups of around 8-10 people close-up miracles with just what I had in my pockets. No large props, set, staging or any fuss when you hire me.

On a smaller scale, I am doing tableside magic at a private home in Hove tonight. It’s 12 people at a dinner party. For that, I will have the attention of the whole group for about 20 minutes.

I also can do more ice-breaking magic when you may have a group of people who don’t all know each other. Starting the evening off with magic always gives people something to talk about.

I do magic with cards, coins, rope, balls and other small, everyday items. I do not do cheesy voices, silly walks and I certainly make no one look silly. Elegant, stylish, contemporary sleight of hand. With a slightly cheeky grin.

Performing magic at a summer party is my favourite place to perform close up magic next to weddings. Everyone wants to have fun. I will entertain and amaze your staff with elegant, charming magic.

I have limited dates available to perform magic at your summer party in June and July and a couple of slots left in August.

I was booked last year to do magic at a couple’s 50th wedding anniversary, just outside Chichester.
Today, I have been practising a unique special piece of close up magic that will – hopefully – make their day.

Come and say hi to the magician…

Just reporting back on the close up magic I did for Accenture in London last night. It was in the really swanky Thistle Charing Cross. Quite lovely. About 150 people in the cocktail reception. I couldnt get round them all in the time I was booked, as I suspected. So when they went through to have their Christmas meal, I went too and did some more magic at the tables of the people I had missed out.

With that many people, there is always a slight delay getting the food out, so I managed to get round 3 or 4 of the tables before the soup came out, where upon I vanished.
